The Ultimate #TALL Gift

December 20, 2017

It happens. People see a tall person and they just can resist. They have to say something. Normally it’s something stereotypical that makes us #talls twitch, but sometimes it’s a compliment we can appreciate. So during this holiday season as you think of what to get your tall friend, mate, co-worker, etc., consider the following.

As a #tall person I think the best thing you can do for a tall person is….ok there’s not one magical thing you can do because people often just do and say entirely too much when they see us. However, one of the best things you can do is just ‘Don’t.

Don’t say it. Abort commentary mission. We know you want to say it. Resist. Resist at all cost. Unless it’s ‘I love your height’ please please please spare us. Even height admiration has a time, place, and/or mood. Sometimes we’re here for it and sometimes we just can’t deal.

What can you do? Smile. Many of us will smile back.

The #tallexperience and those pesky questions is why I’m in love with this sweater. I also like the color scheme because it allows me to dress it up or down.

This is the sweater that says it so you don’t have to. It’s also a good sweater for our tall brothers and sisters who do play the sport but don’t want to be bothered with any questions. It’s like Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak. Ok, not really, but at least people will think twice before asking questions.

Where can you find this awesome sweater? You can order it online via What About Us Apparel, a new brand by a tall French woman specifically designed with tall women in mind.

Bonus:

Tips on what not to say or ask a tall:
– Wow you’re tall

– How’s the air up there?

– Do you play basketball, volleyball, or anything with a ball?

– Are you a model? I mean this can actually come off as a compliment, but if you’re hearing it for the fifty eleventh time then yeah that tall person is probably over it.

Things that might be ok
– I wish I was tall like you. We get it. There are advantages to being tall. Just don’t harp on it.
– I love your height. Thanks – we do too or maybe we don’t and your appreciation for it is nice.
