The 30 Second Hem…

January 25, 2016

Tallistas, we are all too familiar with trying on pants that are too short. Some of us, ok a lot of us myself included, own pants that are just a wee bit too short as well.

I found a quick and easy solution for you thanks to my friend Tamika, owner of the Shop Standout Style boutique in Chicago. They are called Kuhfs.

kuhfs - chaos

Kuhfs were originally created by tallista Amy Olson for the purpose of adding style to her existing winter boots. She did not want to spend money on a new pair of boots. What she wanted was a new look at an affordable cost so she went on a hunt for a solution. Having found none Amy spent the following eight months designing Kuhfs. Necessity is truly the mother of all inventions.

Kuhfs are an affordable multi-purpose clothing accessory, ranging from $32 to $34 a pair. In the words of Amy Olson ‘Kuhfs are one accessory with endless styling possibilities.’ Not only can you use them to add style to your boots, you can also wear them to give extra length to pants that are a tad bit too short, or add style to your capris, work out pants, leggings, etc. An accessory that works for women of all heights.

The picture below shows how Kuhfs look with a slightly tapered pant from Zara. I intentionally purchased a pant that was not long enough in order to test the Kuhfs I received.

My thoughts after testing out Kuhfs:
– The additional length is great (the difference in length is very noticeable and appreciated)
– Kuhfs are removable. You can use the same pare with multiple items
– Kuhfs are adjustable. You can tighten or loosen them for the best fit (skinny or thick ankles/legs approved)
– Kuhfs, in my opinion, are better with pants that are fitted in the ankle area*

* – The pant I chose was not as tapered in the area slightly above my ankle. As a result, the Kuhf I wore moved out of place. When I tightened it the pant bulged creating an undesired look. So I played around with it until I got it just right.

Here’s a look at how I put together a look centered around the ‘chaos’ Kuhf.
