Heightism = TD Definition: The belief that only women (as I have not witnessed this among men) who are 6’0″ or taller experience difficulty finding goods and services to accommodate their height; therefore limiting the ability for tall women to complain if they are shorter than 6’0″ (specifically women who are 5’9″ – 5’11”).
Didn’t know that was a thing? Can’t say I knew it was ‘a thing’ until recently. However, it has happened frequently enough for me to write about it and create a TD definition for it.
I have read multiple comments and have seen memes that indicate some women who are 6’0″ or taller feel that women who are 5’9″ – 5’11” have no skin in the ‘tall game’ because they don’t experience the same difficulty or any difficulty finding clothing.
Where do you stand on this ‘tall’ debate?
Are you team:
A) only ladies who are 6’0″ and above experience real difficulty and can complain about having tall girl problems, or
B) tall ladies 5’9″ – 5″11″ and 6’0″ and above both have the right to complain about problems they experience associated with their height?
Do you believe women under 6’0″ have an easier time shopping for clothing and/or shoes? Or do you believe women above average height experience difficulty shopping across the board, especially when shopping in store?
