Nike Releases March Madness Inspired “Time To Shine” Collection Headlined by the KD9 Elite

May 3, 2017

Concluding yet another wild and unpredictable NCAA tournament, Nike decided to play it’s part in contributing to the excitement with its newly released “Time to Shine” shoe collection. Now available are 4 new colorways for the LeBron 14, PG1, Nike Kyrie 3 and Kobe A.D (to be released soon). The debut also marks the first release of the KD9 elite.

Sponsored by Nike in this year’s Final Four were the University of Oregon, making its first Final Four appearance since the inaugural NCAA tournament, and Gonzaga, who has never appeared in a Final Four. Similar to the styles and colorways of the “Time to Shine” collection, these two teams established themselves with a balanced attack from a diverse cast.

With 10 of this year’s Sweet 16 teams being sponsored by Nike, it was safe to assume that the Bulldogs and Ducks would be taken care of Final Four weekend as the last teams to represent for the global brand. The Ducks and Bulldogs were rewarded with a visit from NBA legend Kobe Bryant who provided advice on the mental aspect of the game, while also providing a special edition “Mamba Mentality” shoe to Oregon.

The KD9 Elite serves as the newest installation of shoe wear for basketball superstar Kevin Durant. The shoe advances the innovative Flynit technology meant to provide optimum lateral movement.

Be on the lookout for the Nike signature athletes throughout these NBA playoffs. The Nike “Time to Shine” collection is now available here.
