Growing up tall often comes with challenges, something Gerald the giraffe is all too familiar with given his long legs and neck.
I recently learned about Gerald the giraffe who can’t dance while reading to my God daughter, Milan. It’s her favorite book and now I know why.
Giraffes Can’t Dance is written by Giles Andreas. This book realistically addresses what it’s like to feel different, but most importantly shares a great lesson in finding the beauty in what makes you, you.
I highly recommend this book for tall children or any child whose unique qualities make them stand out. Don’t have a kid. It’s ok. Read it anyways or watch the animated reading of the book below. It is a great life lesson and a beautiful story about learning to love yourself just as you are.

As you go about this thing called life remember to find the beat of your own drum and dance away. Life is too precious to spend it trying to dance to someone else’s and in Gerald’s words ‘ We all can dance when we find music we love.”
Places you can purchase Giraffe’s Can’t Dance by Giles Andreas:

P.S.
#Tall is beautiful. Your tall children, especially the girls, should know this from a young age. This book can help with that.
