It’s official. We defrosted for a day, only a day, in the Midwest! Chicago’s forecasted high of 70 degrees was a welcomed relief from the cold weather yesterday.
What happens when it warms up? The layers come off.
Bare legs (no hosiery), bright colors and a ‘striped patchwork Nautical tube’ dress by Zara is the look I chose to embrace yesterday’s warmth. I also really wanted to wear my new necklace from Akira, a boutique store here in #Chicago.
Before I share more pictures and details regarding yesterday’s look I want to share a TALL Tip.
TALL Tip of the Day:
Let’s keep it lady-like. When purchasing dresses with a split be sure to do a ‘test walk’ to determine if you need to go up a size, have the dress altered, or leave the dress behind.
There are few things more dreadful than going out in a dress that you have to keep pulling and tugging on in order to avoid ‘cheek’ exposure. I found myself caught up in this tug of war yesterday. Not fun.
**When a spilt is too high it means the dress was not made for #Tallistas. Midi dresses may provide additional length that works in our favor but darts and placements (…like where your split begins) are what really matter. In a nutshell, midi dresses without a split are a tall girls best friend.**
The Look, The Details:
How to get the look:
Dress – Zara
Shoes – Sam Edelman (Nordstrom up to 11)
Necklace = Akira (purchased in store)

First, I LOVE that dress. It fits you perfectly and the different directions of the stripes adds a lot of interest. Second, I had to chuckle and agree with your tall tip!! I’ve definitely found myself with slits that make it a little too breezy on my backside! Always good to do the test walk like you say. Glad you had some warmer weather. Hope it continues.

Many thanks, Beth. Glad you love the dress and can relate to the tip. High splits are the worst. Thanks for the well wishes as well. Hope it warms up again soon.
TALL Blessings,
