Banana Republic for Mr. TALLs

Some of my followers may remember a tip I shared a few months ago about shopping returns. I shared it today as my ‘throwback Thursday’.  If you missed it here’s a screen shot and if your phone is not uploading fast enough it says…

“Call ahead. Benefit from Tall returns made in store. Tall people order clothing and return them in store often. Many stores keep the returned items in stock. Their returned item could be your next new purchase. An informed purchase given you get to try it on in store and a cheaper purchase given you don’t have to pay for shipping and handling or spend gas, postage, or train fare to return it.”

This works best with stores such as Ann Taylor, Banana Republic (men and women), The Gap, J. Crew, The Limited, etc.

I put this into action on Tuesday (April 22nd, 2014) and stopped by the flagship Banana Republic store in Chicago on Michigan Avenue. I was unable to find any Tall women’s returns. However, with the help of Banana Republics kind and helpful store manager J.R. I was able to find a good amount of Tall items for Mr. Tall’s (tall men).

The items are pictured below. If this is your size stop by the store on Michigan avenue or call and speak with J.R. He was really helpful, enthusiastic and will know where to find what you’re looking for. Love a passionate person that cares about the customers satisfaction. If you are not in Chicago.  Google the nearest Banana Republic and ‘call ahead’ to see if they have any tall ‘returns’ in store.

In store Tall returns available for purchase. Note: Pants available in up to 36″ inseam.

NOTE:

If someone from Banana Republic is reading this I want you to know that we Tall’s, especially those in professional fields that require suiting and/or casual professional clothing, want to and will shop in store. Key words are “in store” add 38″ inseam pants for men and 36″ for women and you will hit the jackpot. High quality clothing for Tall men and women is difficult to come by. It is even more difficult when you factor in the inability to ‘try it before you buy it.’ Throw in the waiting period for shipping for good measure and  if it doesn’t fit throw in the return process. Phewww. Exhausted just reading it right? Imagine living it. Note: We are grateful for the ability to return in store. That is definitely helpful. I am hopeful that my Tall tip of the day will reach many and that they will take advantage of tall returns on their next shopping excursion. Hoping we can shop like the regulars and petites soon. Also, I am open to helping and discussing how to better reach the tall consumer resulting in greater revenue generation for your business.
