The Pink Fit: Flamingo Fallon

March 29, 2018

Have you ever found something you really like only to find out that it’s not in stock or not available in your size?

I found myself in that exact situation last Saturday. I ran into Rent The Runway (RTR) to find a dress for an event (last minute shenanigans) that was set to take place that very evening.

I came across this pink Elizabeth & James dress and fell in love. The color was so vibrant and the front slit was just ‘ooooh la la.’ But of course it was an extra small. An extra stinkin small. ???‍♀️

So I asked one of my RTR faves, Steph, if there was a medium or large available. She came back with a frown on her face and said the medium she thought was in stock was no longer available. To make matters worse there was only one dress left, the extra small. So I tried on other dresses but could not get over the pink dress. Luckily, the size of the dress did not stop Steph and the RTR team from convincing me to try it on. It was like pulling teeth but eventually I gave in. I gave in to squeezing my medium/large size wearing, hips having, food pudge existing, nearly six feet tall self into the dress and boy am I glad I did.

It actually fit. It was a tight fit, but it fit.  It definitely hugged every inch of my body, but it also held me in. The dress is made up of a number of fabrics, but the real ‘fabric’ champ of this dress is the 6% spandex.

Note: I still wore spanx. Lol. Oh and I’m not a fan of wearing ish that doesn’t fit. However, there are always exceptions to the rule and this Elizabeth and James Pink Flamingo dress is an exception.
