IMG Models Worldwide just created a new ‘Model’ lane for Big & Tall men who want fashionable clothing that fits well.
The new lane comes with a new name for the big & tall male model. While we at TALL District, a fashion and lifestyle resource for tall men, women, and youth, refer to tall men as Mr. TALL’s; IMG Models Worldwide is going with the term Brawn and I like it. Zach Miko is the face and the ‘height’ of the Brawn movement standing at 6’6” with a 36” inseam, 42” waist, and a 13 shoe size.
My interpretation of Brawn is a tall male who is not slender but is athletic in build like our 6’5” TALL ambassador Usher (pictured below) or solid in weight like IMG model Zach.

Male models range in height from 5’10” – 6’4” on the tall end. As a result, Miko’s height and body type/size are an anomaly in the modeling industry. However, this body type is more common in the world we live in as well as in the sports world.
Zach Miko, make us talls proud. I hope that you’re presence leads to more fashionable options for our big and tall, or shall I say Brawny males. I also hope this leads to better fashion options for tall men and women overall. Tall and slender men, those who are not modeling, have a hard time finding clothing that accommodates their height and body type as well. Take, for example, TALL District ambassador Xavier (blue Josh Kercher suit). He is 6’5” and slender with a 37” inseam.

Finding clothing that fits well (not made for Big and Tall) is arguably as difficult if not more difficult for slender men like him. Often resulting in paying big bucks for tailored suiting. This is in part why TALL District was created, to be a resource for talls of all shapes and sizes that have a difficult time finding fashion and lifestyle options that accommodates their height. Wayne, welcome to TALL District and thanks for sharing your thoughts about the new term, Brawn. We love it too.
We definitely stand by the broad definition of Brawn. Big is inclusive of the muscular guy with a wider frame and/or tummy. American Football is a great example of big/large muscular men (some with a little extra in the middle – defensive/offensive line) with similar issues of finding fashionable clothing that fits their frame well versus outdated fashion that has an unflattering fit and look.
